For those that still find submitting homework electronically through a Google Classroom challenging, I invite to watch the following video for the simplest, easiest way to get this done:

Caveat: This page will be updated as our situation evolves, so do not assume that everything you have read previously is still the same. Read it again for changes!
This is where instructions for Math, Science, and PE are to be found. For the parents, assignments for both math and science will be listed in Chalk (as usual). The assignments for math will be listed in the associated math google classroom. All students are already members of the google classrooms, and have been using them all year. Parents do not have direct access to these classrooms, but they can see them through their student's accounts.
For other 7th grade classes like Social Studies, Religion, ELA and so forth, there will be a 7th-grade crate with student's file folders in the Breezeway where paper assignments will be available for parental pickup on Tuesdays from 0700 to 0900, and homework drop-off at the same time. Please look to the specific class subject for more details about assignments.
Office Hours: These are the hours that I will be available for questions, answers, any kind of help at all. Email to me should be responded to very quickly (less than 10 minutes normally). These are the guaranteed hours each week, however I will respond to email at any time that I am on the computer.
If anyone (parent or student) has a question, please don't hesitate to email me either using the "Email Me" button above, or to lrupp@hfsauburn.com with any questions. I know this is and will continue to be a very trying and uncertain time, so bear with us and we will work with you about any situation that might arise.
Students: Every student in 7th and 8th grade needs to send me a Communications Email every school day. This is a tracked and graded assignment, and I am serious about it.
200323 (Monday) - Physical pick up and drop off of papers, information, and homework will stop after tomorrow, Tuesday 24 March. Everything will now be done electronically.
200405 (Monday) - Governor Inslee has now decreed that we will not be going back to school this school year. HFS academic classes are still continuing in full force, so our expectations remain the same. I will miss seeing the students everyday! They are a huge part of my job satisfaction teaching, and I love interacting with them.
200504 (Monday) - There are now 4 Zoom meetings each week for math and science. See the table below for details. Math videos will continue to be produced, these Live Lecture meetings are meant to supplement these videos. These are nominally 30 minute meetings, but if more time is needed, we will continue.

MATH
- All math will continue exactly as before, and Chalk is where you will find assignments and grades.
- The Google classrooms are where you will find the assignments again, along with the associated answer keys. The biggest change is that now you will be attaching your homework to your google assignment and turning it in to me that way. DO NOT email me your homework in regular email.
- From now until we return to regular school, there will be no more classwork, only homework.
- The homework late policy still applies (1 week from date of assignment).
- If you do NOT self-check your homework, I will take 50% of the points away for making me correct your homework. This starts as of 200323 (Monday, 23 March for you civilian types).
- Regarding tests and quizzes, we will not be having a weekly test like before. I will evaluate how we are doing as a class from time to time, and determine if a quiz is appropriate or not.
- Upon clicking the "Math Videos" button above, you will be taken to a new page dedicated solely to our math classes. Go there to see updated homework information, video links, etc...
- Update: There are now quizzes created on a terribly-named website called "Quizizz.com". There you will find quizzes you can take for Pre-Algebra and Algebra (and you can take them as many times as you want to get the grade you want for as long as the quiz is running).
- Remember that we are continuing to move ahead in our math curriculum, and we have a fair amount of ground to cover by the end of the year. So let's bear down and git 'er done!

Parents please note: All math classes have Google classrooms that contain more detailed information about homework and class announcements. These classrooms are only accessible by having your student log in to them.
Answers to homework for all math classes will be posted to Google classrooms on the morning the assignment is due.

Welcome to Mr. Rupp's classroom! This is my third year teaching at Holy Family, but I have been a parent at Holy Family School for 12 years. I am the 7th grade Homeroom teacher, and I also teach 7th grade Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and 7th and 8th Grade Science.
I have a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Washington in Electrical Engineering, with a Minor in Mathematics. I have previously worked as a software engineer for Hughes Missile Systems, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, and Boeing, and I also served 15 years in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Ground Radio Repairman (Electronics) and Combat Engineer.
My wife and I live in Auburn, and we have one son (Chris) and one daughter (Sophia). We like fishing, kayaking, and spending time with our family.

Did I mention fishing? Oh yeah!
