Meet the Administration and Teachers:
Holy Family School has a staff of highly qualified educators with an exceptional devotion to Catholic teachings. They are well-educated, experienced, compassionate, and dedicated to their students, school and profession.
Principal : Mrs. Michele Corey
Welcome to Holy Family School Auburn! I am Principal Michele Corey and I am thrilled to be here. The students, teachers, staff, parents, and parishioners are fantastic at Holy Family. We are a small welcoming community here. Please come and visit our school anytime.
I attended St. Joseph College in Vermont earning an AA, and returned to the Seattle area for my BA in mathematics and a secondary teaching degree with endorsements in math, biology, psychology, sociology, and anthropology. My principal credentials and Masters were completed at UW Tacoma. Yes, I am a Husky fan and love to tease Cougars!
My husband and I live in Puyallup and I have been teaching in the Catholic Schools for the past 29 years. Besides being an administrator for the past eight years; I have taught math, science, social studies, and religion at both the middle school and high school levels. We raised five children and currently are blessed with six grandchildren. When we are not working or busy on our Christmas tree farm, we enjoy hiking, going to the ocean, visiting family, and relaxing.
Administrative Assistant: Mrs. Lorena Brock
As the Administrative Assistant I wear many different hats during the school day! Supporting the Pastor, Principal and our extraordinary teaching staff is a priority. Working with such wonderful students and parents is a blessing.
Holy Family School and Parish is my “home”. My husband attended Holy Family School when it first opened in 1964. Our children also attended HFS. When my youngest son went into Kindergarten I began looking for a job after 7 years of staying home. Holy Family had an opening to work part time in the school office. I immediately applied and was blessed to find out I had been hired. My plan was to stay at Holy Family until my children were finished with 8th grade however, my heart could not say goodbye to this little school and so I stayed!
It has been one of my greatest pleasures to work here at Holy Family School for the past 27 years and I look forward to a few more years to come!
Pre-Kindergarten Teacher: Mrs. Carri Burk
My name is Carri Burk and this is my fourth year teaching Pre-Kindergarten at Holy Family School. I have been a member of Holy Family Parish for 13 years and a parent here at HFS for 12 years. My oldest daughter and son graduated from HFS and attend Bellarmine Preparatory in Tacoma. My youngest daughter is a student here at HFS.
I have a strong family commitment to Catholic education. My mother attended Catholic schools in Wichita, Kansas and Chicago. I attended five Catholic elementary schools (Army brat) and graduated from St. Michael’s in Olympia, Bellarmine Preparatory and my undergraduate degree is from the University of Portland.
I believe that a Catholic Education, which emphasizes spiritual and academic excellence, has the ability to transform a student’s life. Being a part of building that foundation is an exciting responsibility.
Kindergarten Teacher: Mrs. Meaghan Hanson
I am so excited to be teaching Kindergarten here at Holy Family! This is my sixth year teaching Kindergarten. I grew up in Tigard, Oregon and have gone to Catholic Schools my whole life. I got my Bachelors in Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education and Reading from Saint Martin's University and am currently working on my Masters Degree with a focus in English as a Second Language at University of Portland. In my spare time I love to read, be outdoors, play sports and hang out with my family and friends.
First Grade Teacher: Mrs. Renee Almy
Hi, my name is Mrs. Renee Almy! This is my 13th year teaching and my 5th year at Holy Family School. I have a BA in Early Childhood Education from Arizona State University and a MA in Educational Administration from Western Washington University. I have taught 4th grade, 2nd grade, Pre-K, and library. I’m so excited to now be teaching 1st grade and love all of the exploring, learning, and fun that we have together! I grew up on Lake Tapps and as a member of Holy Family Parish. It’s a wonderful community and I’m happy to now have my 3 children as a part of the school and parish. In my free time I enjoy chauffeuring my kids to all of their activities, reading, waterskiing, and playing tennis.
Second Grade Teacher: Mrs. Noralee Reger
Hello, my name is Noralee Reger. I have been teaching 2nd Grade here at Holy Family since 2010. My favorite part of teaching 2nd Grade is preparing my students for the sacraments.
My husband and I have been members of Holy Family Parish for 25 years. Both of our children are graduates of Holy Family School.
I received my Masters in Teaching from City University and my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington.
I enjoy reading, gardening, and travel.
Third Grade Teacher: Mrs. Ann Kelly
This is my 23rd year teaching here at Holy Family School. Each day, I still get excited when I see my students learning something new or when they share an interesting insight. I like to make learning fun and interesting.
HFS feels like home to me. I attended HFS as a child. HFS looks different today, but the environment is still warm and inviting. It is always fun to see former students and classmates. I love to hear what everyone is doing today.
When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my family. I enjoy walking the dog, reading some good books, and running in the park.
Fourth Grade Teacher: Mr. William Christensen
I began teaching at Holy Family in 2013 and have loved every minute of it since! I received a Masters in Education from University of Phoenix and a BA in Liberal Arts from The Evergreen State College. My work experiences prior to teaching 4th grade at Holy Family vary. I was a Substitute Teacher from 2009-2013 at Holy Family, in the Auburn School District, and in California (Chula Vista Elementary School District and the Diocese of San Diego.)
I have been married for over 16 years and have two wonderful children (daughter, age 13, and son, age 11.) I enjoy all sports (especially hockey!!!), collecting sports cards and stamps, post-crossing, reading, traveling, and being goofy.
Fifth Grade Homeroom: Ms. Iliana Swartz
This is my first year teaching at Holy Family and my first official year teaching! Two years ago I was a 1-on-1 Aide for a kindergarten student with special needs. This past year I substitute taught at Holy Family and in the Federal Way School District. I spent the last two months of the school year long-term subbing in a Deaf and Hard of Hearing high school class.
This is only my second year in Washington. I lived for five years in Phoenix, AZ where I completed my Bachelor's before moving here to complete my Master's in Teaching.
I am looking forward to a fantastic year!
