About Our School

Holy Family School, the parish school of Holy Family Catholic Church, has been serving our community since 1964.  As a Catholic school, our commitment to spiritual growth is based on Gospel values that touch each dimension of school life.  Through religious curriculum in all grades, sacrament preparation, daily prayer, social outreach programs, regular celebration of school mass, and prayer services prepared and presented by the students, each day provides by living example the messages of Christ.

Holy Family School endeavors to offer our students a curriculum that is challenging, thought provoking and stretches the students’ capabilities.  Our program is rich in language arts, math, science and social studies.  To compliment our core subjects we have classes such as library, physical education and technology.  A strong fine arts program is provided through art, music, choir, band and dramatic productions.

We offer academic programs that instill essential skills to prepare students for an ever-changing world while stimulating them to be life-long learners.  Students at Holy Family School consistently achieve high scores on standardized reading, math and science assessments.  Area high school entrance exam scores and honor rolls reflect our graduates' solid academic preparation.

Recognizing that God uniquely creates each student with different talents and gifts, we stress personalized education.  We acknowledge that parents/guardians are the primary educators of their children, and teachers are assistants in this process.  Through high academic standards and personal attention to each child, we hope to instill in each student a spirit of always striving for improvement and perfection in all areas of development.

The staff at Holy Family School strives to provide an atmosphere in our relationships with each other and with our students, where our own love of learning and the sharing of our knowledge and experience inspire students.  We guide students in focusing on sound academic and critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to learn independently and cooperatively.

The individuality and uniqueness of each member of the community - students, parents/guardians and faculty is valued at Holy Family School.  A positive self-image, Christian outlook on life, self-respect, self-discipline, a sense of responsibility and respect for people are crucial attributes that the Holy Family community strives to inspire in each student.

Students develop teamwork and leadership skills in the classroom through group projects and presentations, academic mentoring, Service Club, and other activities that create relationships across grade levels.  These activities enhance confidence and foster personal growth while focusing on individual accountability to a team.  The emphasis is faith, discipline and values that help the student build character and develop good work habits that carry into adulthood.

One of the hallmarks of Holy Family School is the close working relationship enjoyed by teachers, students and parents/guardians.  Since parents/guardians are the first and primary teachers of their own children, it is important that a cooperative relationship be established between home and school, with the child's best interest being the primary goal.  Parental/guardian volunteerism and participation in student activities, our dedicated faculty with a low student/teacher ratio, our Parish Community, the Parent Teacher Organization, and the Consultative School Commission all help in creating a strong family atmosphere at our school.

Holy Family School is proud of the professional and highly educated staff that assists our students.  Our principal and teachers are Washington State Certified educational professionals.  Holy Family School is privileged to be an Archdiocese of Seattle Certified School, a Washington State Approved Private School and accredited by the following organizations: National Catholic Education Association, Northwest Association of Accredited Schools, and Western Association of Schools and Colleges/Western Catholic Educational Association.

We have eleven classroom teachers, one educational assistant and seven specialists in the areas of art, drama, language arts, library media, music, physical education, science, and technology.

In choosing Holy Family, you will begin a journey that will continue to benefit your student for years to come.  The excellence in academics will prepare them to work diligently with skills that will help them succeed in anything they choose to do.  The spiritual formation will help them to see that their life has a purpose for building up the Kingdom of Christ.  The character development will help them to be true leaders in all that they do.  Finally, their apostolic formation will help them to see beyond themselves to a world that needs their generous heart.
